About

TRL11’s Technology Suite encompasses a range of products designed for space applications, from photon capture to photon transmission and mission operation. The ‘CAPTURE’ segment includes xClops Payloads, which are one-box visual payloads with multiple camera and lens options, intelligent vision on the edge, and GEO rating. They combine 2-4 full-motion 4k video cameras with an AI-enabled edge processor for identifying uncatalogued space objects and expediting event data. xClops is proven on orbit for object tracking and autonomous rendezvous, supporting Space Domain Awareness (SSA/SDA), Orbital Warfare, Object Characterization at 20–50 km, Rendezvous Proximity and Docking, and Satellite Servicing. Features include AI Enabled Machine Vision Edge Computing, Stereo Cameras for Depth Sensing, Center Camera for Object Detection & Tracking, optional 4th Camera for Docking & Mission Assurance, optional Monolithic Telescope for Resolved Imagery at Extreme Distance, data storage, containerized apps, and GEO rating.

Modular Payloads offer a bespoke AI-enabled machine vision solution using TRL11’s SAVER (DVR + machine vision edge processor) with up to eight 4k full-motion video cameras, LEO rated. Applications include Human space flight crew monitoring, Mission assurance, Own-ship Health Monitoring, and Rendezvous Proximity and Docking. They feature multiple 4K & 1080p Camera Options, 10/100 & Gigabit Ethernet Switches, an Edge Processor with VIP Algorithms, Containerized Apps + Data Storage.

Space Rated Hardware Components include Networking Hardware (HANS), which are industrial-grade layer 2 unmanaged Ethernet switches available as 5-port 10/100 or 8-port 10/100/1000 variants, ruggedized for LEO or GEO. They are designed to connect multiple camera feeds, other electronic subsystems (star trackers, radios, payload instruments), and any network switching application in space. They are power efficient (600mW idle, max 1400mW) and can be stand-alone or integrated into xClops or SAVER. Fovea Cameras are ultra-sharp, radiation-tolerant cameras for space, offering up to 4k full-motion video with multiple lenses and Wide Dynamic Range, LEO Rated. Models include Fovea M1 (4k large-sensor, full-motion, color), Fovea M2 (1080p large-sensor, full-motion, color), Fovea M3 (small form-factor 4k full-motion color), and Fovea GC (small form-factor, raw image for star tracking, guidance and control). They feature onboard video encoders up to 4k, interchangeable lenses, built-in hardware HDR, and are power efficient and rugged.

The ‘PROCESS’ segment features VIPOnly™ for Intelligence at the edge. ANOMALY DETECTION uses AI/ML Event Detection, Off-Nominal State Flagging, and Unidentified RSO Detection. It detects off-nominal spacecraft orientation, collision damage, and unidentified Resident Space Objects in real time using AI-enabled machine vision on live streaming video from orbit. Applications include Mission Assurance, Own-Ship Health Monitoring, Space Situational Awareness, and Space Domain Awareness. It integrates with SAVER for on-orbit recording of flagged events. CHARACTERIZATION uses AI/ML Scene Analysis, Star & Satellite Identification, and New Object Behavior Tracking. It characterizes known stars and satellites, identifies new objects, and tracks their behavior, supporting Space Domain Awareness, Orbital Warfare, and Space Situational Awareness. ROI EXTRACTION performs Live Object & Event Detection, 4D Digital Twin Modeling, and offers 1/1000th Downlink Bandwidth. It extracts regions of interest from live video, reconstructs scenes with 4D digital twin modeling, and reduces downlink bandwidth significantly, ideal for bandwidth-constrained missions and GEO operations.

The ‘TRANSMIT’ segment includes VIPLink™ for Resilient Delivery. LIVE STREAMING provides Full Motion Video from LEO with Proven S-Band Performance for Real-Time Telepresence, demonstrated for mission operators. It supports Mission Assurance, Own-Ship Monitoring, Space Station Operations, and Crew Communications. RESILIENT Downlink is a Handshakeless Downlink Protocol with Bidirectional C2 and Forward Error Correction, offering up to 2000% Bandwidth Improvement. It’s a connectionless protocol optimized for low bandwidth, intermittent connectivity, and high packet-loss conditions typical of space-to-ground links, with end-to-end encryption. PRIORITIZED DOWNLINK (VIP1ST™) uses AI Scene Analysis for Prioritized Non-Sequential Downlink, ensuring Critical Data First. It performs intelligent scene analysis of recorded video for event detection, extracts and queues key portions for transmission first, integrating with SAVER.

Finally, ‘OPERATE’ features Visual Mission Control (BMC3 software platform) for Mission Management, Multi-Feed Management, Telemetry Fusion, and Anomaly Alerts. It manages feeds, fuses video with telemetry, detects anomalies, and enables real-time decisions, available on Desktop, iPad, iPhone, Android, and Apple TV.
