About
Umbra’s Scan mode is the only commercial SAR product on the market that breaks free from the satellite’s ground track, enabling cross-track collection for longer and wider areas in a single pass. Unlike traditional stripmap collections locked to a parallel ground track, Scan can collect imagery off-track, giving analysts wider coverage, richer context, and sharper detail. With resolution from 50 cm to 2 m and footprints up to 8 km x 100 km, it is positioned as the highest-resolution large-area SAR product available, supporting maritime domain awareness, border security, pipeline and infrastructure monitoring, and environmental change detection. Large-area scans can be delivered directly to Umbra’s Canopy platform in optimized compression formats.
