About

UMsat is the CubeSat initiative of the University of Massachusetts Amherst, founded in 2007 by undergraduate students within the Riccio College of Engineering. The program provides an end-to-end platform for students to research, design, build, test, and launch pico-satellites, following the standard modular CubeSat form factor of stackable 10 cm x 10 cm x 10 cm units. Mission objectives center on Earth imaging, remote sensing, and downlink of climate-relevant data, while giving students direct systems-engineering and mission-operations experience across the full spacecraft lifecycle.
