Lúnasa provides a robotic testbed for ground-based simulation and validation of vision-based Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) systems for satellite servicing. This service allows for understanding the RPO kit’s responses to changing conditions like lighting and satellite orientations, crucial for reliable RPO. The testbed features two 6-DoF modular robotic arms, a linear traverser for dynamic positioning, and adaptable lighting in a blackout room, enabling simulation of various orbital conditions, approach angles, shadowed docking, or unexpected movements, tailored to specific mission needs. It facilitates real-time data collection and repeatable experiments to validate satellite operations pre-launch, identifying potential failures early and reducing mission risk.
