Ground Support Equipment (GSE) for star sensors

Jena-Optronik offers Ground Support Equipment (GSE) specifically designed for star sensors, covering all individual testing needs. This equipment, including the Optical Sky Stimulator (OSI) and Optical Star Pattern Stimulator (OSPS), complements star sensors in each development phase of a spacecraft’s Attitude and Orbit Control System (AOCS). The OSI is a lightweight, intelligent, and powerful device for high-resolution direct mapping of celestial bodies and dynamic scenarios onto the star sensor, enabling end-to-end testing of all relevant functions and parameters in dynamic mode. Variants like OSI TV and OSPS-TV are available for thermal vacuum chambers, and the OSPS offers static star pattern simulation for basic functional testing and optimal alignment at the satellite level without permanent alignment cube attachment.
