OGSE Development

LusoSpace has extensive experience in developing Optical Ground Support Equipment (OGSE) for various optical instruments, including those for GAIA, Sentinel 3, and Sentinel 5. This involves the design, manufacturing, assembly, and testing of OGSE units used in both the Assembly, Integration and Testing (AIT) phase and the Calibration and Characterization (C&C) phase of complete instruments. The AIT phase includes alignment and verification tests in ISO5 conditions and a thermal vacuum environment, while the C&C phase involves on-ground calibration campaigns with instrument measurements under flight representative conditions inside a dedicated thermal vacuum chamber. Examples include the Sun Simulator (SUSI) for characterizing and calibrating instrument performance.
