About Capella Space

Capella Space designs, builds, and operates advanced SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) satellites and associated ground infrastructure to provide Earth intelligence. The company's product lines include high-resolution SAR satellites, such as the Hawk and Acadia series, and end-to-end intelligence systems encompassing space systems, high-resolution SAR, and signals intelligence. They also offer an automated Tasking, Collection, Processing, Exploitation, Dissemination (TCPED) system for rapid data delivery. Capella Space serves customers in Defense & Intelligence, Maritime Awareness, Disaster Response, and Infrastructure & Asset Monitoring sectors, including government agencies like the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) and NASA, as well as integrators and technology providers through its global partner network. The company manufactures its satellites in-house, with 40,000 square feet of production space scaled in 2021. Capella Space was founded in 2016. Its flight heritage includes the launch of its first proof-of-concept satellite, Denali, in 2018, followed by its first operational SAR satellite, Sequoia (Capella-2), in 2020, and additional Acadia satellites in 2024. The company's sensor capabilities are built on proven TRL 9 platforms. In 2025, Capella Space was acquired by IonQ to pioneer quantum-enabled space technology.
