About EOI Space (Earth Observant)

EOI Space (Earth Observant Inc.) is a US-based commercial space company headquartered in Louisville, Colorado, developing a unique constellation of very low-flying satellites called Stingrays to collect ultra-high-resolution imagery from Very Low Earth Orbit (VLEO). By operating at roughly half the altitude of typical imaging satellites, EOI Space aims to capture the highest commercially available resolution views of Earth for real-time intelligence, asset monitoring, and situation awareness.

The company has patented a standardized VLEO-specific satellite bus featuring an aerodynamic design, extended solar arrays, high-speed radios, and drag-resistant materials, paired with a proprietary electric propulsion system called HET-X that maintains a consistent 250 km altitude for at least five years. Each Stingray satellite includes onboard edge computing to process imagery before downlink, enabling faster delivery and AI-generated analytics directly from space.

EOI Space plans a fully operational constellation of up to 60 Stingray satellites, delivering 15 cm-resolution multispectral and near-infrared imagery with re-imaging of any global location as frequently as every 10 minutes and the capacity to image over 10,000 areas of interest per day. Services include Priority Imagery, Tasking (leasing capacity to governments and partners), OnDemand Imagery via API/cloud streaming, Library Imagery, and AI-based Monitoring, serving industries such as defense, energy, insurance, transportation, maritime, and disaster response.

The company is led by co-founders Christopher Thein (CEO) and Nathan Rosenblad (Chief Engineer), with a leadership team drawing on experience from the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, Lockheed Martin, DigitalGlobe, Ball Aerospace, and the U.S. Air Force.
