Ka User Terminal
High-performance Ka-band flat-panel SATCOM terminal in development, designed to unlock satellite broadband at reduced cost using RIS technology.
Description
Greenerwave's Ka User Terminal is a next-generation flat-panel antenna terminal under development for Ka-band satellite broadband communications. It is designed to be the first high-performance, low-cost flat panel antenna in the Ka band, leveraging Greenerwave's Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface (RIS) technology to deliver broadband connectivity from satellite constellations at significantly reduced cost compared to conventional electronically steerable arrays.
The Ka terminal extends Greenerwave's proven RIS platform — already commercialized in the Ku band — to higher frequencies, enabling access to the growing capacity of Ka-band GEO and LEO satellite operators. The development program has received support from the European Union's Horizon EIC 2023 Accelerator programme (grant agreement No 190156996), underscoring its technological innovation and commercial potential.
