Description
The BT-4 is IHI Aerospace's 450N bipropellant thruster using hydrazine and nitrogen tetroxide (NTO) propellants, developed for geostationary satellite apogee maneuvers. Flight-proven with a demonstrated life of 32,850 seconds, the BT-4 has been widely adopted by US satellite manufacturers since its introduction in 2001.
IHI Aerospace has manufactured and delivered over 400 bipropellant thrusters for spacecraft since starting development in the 1980s, building on decades of apogee engine production experience beginning with the 1700N N2H4/MON apogee engine.
