About IHI Aerospace

IHI Aerospace Co., Ltd. is a Japanese aerospace and defence company, a subsidiary of IHI Corporation (Tokyo Stock Exchange: 7013), headquartered in Tomioka, Gunma. IHI Aerospace is Japan's primary solid rocket motor manufacturer and a key supplier to JAXA's launch vehicle programs. The company develops and produces the solid boosters for the H-IIA, H-IIB, and H3 launch vehicles, as well as solid-fueled sounding rockets and the Epsilon small orbital launch vehicle. IHI Aerospace also manufactures spacecraft structures, engine components, and cryogenic propellant systems for liquid-fueled rocket stages. The company contributes to Japan's launch independence by providing critical propulsion components across JAXA's entire launch vehicle fleet and has a long heritage in Japanese rocket development dating to the 1960s.
