Lynk Global is a Falls Church, Virginia-based satellite company pioneering cellular direct-to-satellite (D2S) communications. Unlike traditional satellite phones or high-cost terminal systems, Lynk's technology enables ordinary, unmodified mobile phones to connect directly to satellites in orbit to send and receive text messages in areas without cellular coverage.

Lynk operates a growing constellation of small satellites in low Earth orbit that communicate with standard LTE handsets using existing 4G spectrum. The company has received FCC authorization in multiple countries to commercially provide satellite direct-to-device service and has established carrier partnerships globally to extend coverage in rural and remote areas with no cellular infrastructure.

Lynk's technology addresses one of mobile communications' most significant gaps: the vast majority of Earth's surface — oceans, polar regions, and rural areas — has no cellular coverage. By enabling ordinary phones to reach satellites without any hardware modification, Lynk aims to extend essential communications services to the billions of people outside cellular coverage worldwide.
