ONDO Space

ONDO Space is Mongolia's first commercial satellite company, founded in 2022 to develop space-based IoT connectivity solutions tailored for Mongolia's vast, sparsely-populated geography and the Central Asian region. The company's ONDOSAT-OWL constellation of CubeSats provides satellite IoT connectivity for applications critical to Mongolia's economy and environment.

ONDO Space's primary markets include livestock tracking for Mongolia's large nomadic herding population — enabling pastoralists to locate animals across remote steppe and mountain terrain — as well as logistics monitoring for trucks and goods traveling the routes connecting Russia, China, and Central Asian countries. The constellation also supports environmental monitoring for early warning of natural disasters, extreme weather, and ecological changes in this ecologically sensitive region.

The company represents the emergence of space entrepreneurship in frontier space markets, as countries like Mongolia develop domestic space capabilities to address locally relevant challenges. ONDO Space works with international partners for satellite manufacturing and launch services while developing the operational infrastructure and data services that serve its regional customers.
