SC 1000
A small, solar-powered, solar-powered satellite IoT terminal for cost-effective asset tracking using ORBCOMM's next-generation OGx satellite service.
Description
The SC 1000 is a satellite connectivity device designed for tracking and monitoring remote assets beyond the reach of cellular networks. It connects to ORBCOMM's OGx, a next-generation satellite service, to provide asset visibility at scale. The device is solar-powered and features a small form factor, an integrated antenna, and low power consumption, which together reduce the cost of satellite asset tracking. Installation is hassle-free: the SC 1000 can simply be attached to any asset with no wiring or complex setup required, and it can be moved from asset to asset with ease for simplified fleet management. Users can connect the SC 1000 to the SKYWAVE/ORBCOMM platform for out-of-the-box functionality, or integrate it into their own platform via APIs. It is offered as part of the SKYWAVE Asset Assurance Program, an annual subscription that bundles satellite connectivity for IoT solutions. Stated applications include remote asset tracking, vessel tracking, fleet/crew safety monitoring for ships, and monitoring of remote agricultural equipment such as ranch water supplies, extending visibility into areas with little to no cellular coverage.
