About Rovial Space

Rovial Space is a French deep-tech company founded in 2022 and headquartered in Colomiers (Toulouse area), France. The company was established to address two of the most critical challenges facing the emerging orbital economy: the absence of high-power platforms capable of sustaining energy-intensive space applications, and the lack of capable in-space robotic servicing systems.

The company opened a 2,000 m² headquarters and Technology Development Center in Colomiers in June 2023, housing its engineering, commercial, and R&D teams. Leadership combines deep expertise in robotics and AI (CTO Dr. Amit Kumar Pandey, former Chief Scientist at Softbank Robotics), high-power spacecraft engineering, and operations, under CEO and co-founder Luis Jimenez-Tuñon, former Group EVP of Eutelsat and CEO of Vodafone Enabler.

Rovial's two interlocking product lines — the Rovial Breakthrough™ solar space platform and its AI-enabled robotic servicing systems — are designed to work in concert: robots assemble and maintain the large solar structures that power the platform. The company targets a dual commercial and defence market estimated at €230 billion, covering high-power communications, space data centres, space lasers, moon missions, and power beaming to Earth.

Rovial Space raised a $6.8M seed round in July 2023, counts Seraphim Space and TA Ventures among its investors, was selected for the Seraphim Space Accelerator (the world's leading space-tech accelerator), and completed a 6-month feasibility study with Eutelsat OneWeb Group on high-power GEO mission architectures.
