About Zhongke Tiansuan (Comospace)

Beijing Zhongke Tiansuan Technology Co., Ltd. (中科天算, trading as Comospace) was founded in June 2024 as a commercial spin-off building on research from the Chinese Academy of Sciences' Institute of Computing Technology and Zhejiang Lab. The company positions itself as a leading provider of space-based intelligent application system solutions, working to build 'space computing infrastructure, a fulcrum for space computing power services' by breaking through core technologies in 'supercomputing to space' and 'AI for Space.'

In 2022 the team launched its first Aurora (极光) satellite-borne intelligent computer carrying a domestic high-performance AI chip, which has since logged over 1,000 days of stable on-orbit operation. Core team members come from the CAS Institute of Computing Technology, China's aerospace sector, Huawei, Zhejiang University, and Zhejiang Lab.

In 2025 the company raised an angel round of tens of millions of RMB, led jointly by Gewuzhizhi Private Equity Fund and Shanghai Future Industry Fund, with follow-on investment from Meihua Ventures and Qiji Chuangtan. Proceeds are earmarked for core R&D in space-based computing and pre-engineering work on the company's own satellite.

Comospace's long-term roadmap, the 'Tiansuan Plan' (天算计划), targets deployment of modular space supercomputing centers in sun-synchronous orbit, aiming by 2030 to build a 'Tianji' ten-thousand-GPU-class supercomputing cluster in orbit composed of upgradable energy, communication, and compute modules.
