About
The 8U Solar Panel is a stationary solar panel designed for 8U CubeSats, integrating triple-junction photovoltaic solar cells. It offers high power output and radiation resistance, with an efficiency of over 30% at Beginning of Life (BOL) and 29+% at End of Life (EOL). The panel is designed for a 5-year mission lifetime and includes 20 solar cells, providing a maximum power of 24 W in Low Earth Orbit (LEO). It features internal bypass diode for reverse bias protection and has a Solar Cell Assembly (SCA) thickness of 280-300 μm. Integrated sensors include up to 4 photodiodes, with configurability for additional sensors upon request. The panel has a mass of 545 g, a maximum voltage of 49.8V (20S1P), and a maximum current of 2.5 A (4S5P). Optional features include an external magnetorquer connector, a low-power MCU, up to 2 photodiodes, and up to 3 temperature sensors.
