Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA)
Viasat offers high-performance and cost-effective RF front end and AESA systems with multi-function capability for next generation sensing and connectivity across air, space, ground mobile, and maritime domains.
About
Viasat’s Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) systems provide cutting-edge combat performance for next-generation fighter and unmanned aircraft, where size and performance are crucial. These systems deliver multi-function capabilities for tactical, strategic, and C2 platforms, enabling both beyond-line-of-sight and line-of-sight communications with open standards for control and status interfaces.
For space applications, Viasat’s high-throughput, millimeter-wave AESAs enable satellite-to-satellite links for communication and networking. These antennas can steer beams for rapid, accurate acquisition and position tracking, seamless handover between satellites, and perform on-the-fly reconfiguration of antenna characteristics. This enables end-to-end terminals to communicate in hybrid orbital environments, such as MEO to GEO.
In ground mobile scenarios, Viasat’s multi-orbit, multi-constellation wideband AESAs are designed for the dynamically demanding beyond line-of-sight requirements of comms-on-the-pause and comms-on-the-move environments. They provide unparalleled battlespace situational awareness, enhancing crew effectiveness and survivability. Additionally, Viasat’s multi-orbit, multi-constellation wideband AESAs are uniquely designed to meet the demanding shipboard electromagnetic environment for maritime applications.
