About
The MUSIC hollow cathode is the electron source behind Aliena’s Hall effect thrusters: a flight-ready hollow cathode delivering reliable ignition and stable operation for Hall thrusters from 70 to 350 W.
It is a 1 A-class lanthanum hexaboride (LaB6) cathode of the heated, ceramic-encapsulated type, capable of self-sustained operation with a startup time of 4.5 minutes.
The cathode is available for lease in R&D or purchase for flight missions, and is offered to international customers.
