About
The Beacon M is the medium member of the ANT61 Beacon family, a satellite recovery and real-time diagnostics solution. Like the rest of the family it independently collects and transmits satellite health telemetry, has its own power supply, attitude determination and GNSS, and provides a two-way continuous connection to mission control through inter-satellite links.
Compared with the Beacon S it carries a substantially larger data volume of 22 MB, in a 50 x 100 x 100 mm package weighing 700 g.
The Beacon family is designed to function during operational anomalies and outside the normal operating conditions for LEO satellites, providing a backup communication path for critical firmware updates and for regaining control of the satellite. ANT61 states the module was proven in space in February 2024.
