The ABLean manufacturing platform is Azista BST’s vertically integrated, end-to-end small satellite manufacturing solution designed for constellation-scale production. It enables the mass manufacture of 50-200kg small satellites and offers capacity building support for emerging space nations. The platform also provides a ready-made platform for in-orbit demonstration (IOD) of customer payloads, and the company caters to entire mega constellations. Manufacturing takes place at Asia’s first private satellite factory, located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, which spans 30,000 sq. ft. and houses clean rooms, an AIT (Assembly, Integration and Testing) lab, and testing facilities. The facility offers design, development, manufacturing, testing, and qualification capabilities under a single roof, with 80% of subsystems manufactured in-house through rapid production, assembly, and testing processes. This approach is stated to reduce build time by 250x, reduce cost by 40x, and increase production rate by 250x. The company draws on heritage from participation in 75+ satellite missions, with a team of 100 design and manufacturing engineers supporting the facility’s automated testing and scalable manufacturing operations.
