About
The BST BAT-110 is a modular battery system engineered for small satellites. It utilizes Li-Fe battery technology, which provides a significantly higher cycle life (10x more) compared to Li-Io or Li-Po batteries, and is also considerably less hazardous. The battery block incorporates protection mechanisms against overcharging (non-destructive) and is tolerant of deep discharge (non-destructive). It also features cell balancing. The BAT-110 is space-proven and boasts a design life of 5 years in Low Earth Orbit (LEO). Its modular design allows for adaptation to a wide range of voltages and capacities to meet specific mission requirements. Berlin Space Technologies (BST) batteries, including this technology, have space heritage since 2015.
