About

The BHT-600 is a mature, high-performance propulsion system compatible with flight-proven cathodes, PPUs, and feed systems, well suited for ESPA-class spacecraft. Available as direct mount, with 1-axis, or 2-axis gimballing, it can serve as primary propulsion with the gimballed version also providing attitude control for reaction wheel desaturation. An engineering model at NASA Glenn Research Center accumulated 7,198 hours of operation (~70 kg Xe throughput) without discernible thrust or Isp degradation; a hybrid BHT-600i iodine/xenon variant has demonstrated 1000+ hours.
