About

The Chascii Single Optical Terminal (SOT) is the company’s entry-level optical communications node, optimized for Size, Weight, and Power (SWaP) constrained platforms including drones, stratospheric balloons, and small spacecraft. The SOT provides gigabit-speed free-space laser links using both 850 nm and 1550 nm wavelengths across a 100-degree steering angle, making it suitable for a wide variety of pointing scenarios.

At 1U form factor and only 15W power consumption, the SOT enables high-throughput data downlinks that radio-frequency systems cannot match at equivalent size. The 1.5U–2U SOT+AoA variant adds a wide-angle angle-of-arrival (AoA) subsystem that eliminates the need for platform reorientation during link acquisition, significantly simplifying integration on attitude-agnostic hosts.

Chascii’s broader product family extends from the SOT to the Omnidirectional ISOC terminal (6U, full-sky coverage, multiple simultaneous links for swarm and constellation applications) and the Long Range Optical Terminal (LROT, 8–10U, extended link budget for distant ground or inter-satellite nodes). All terminals are designed to integrate with Chascii’s INSPIRE (INterplanetary SPace InteRnEt) optical backbone — a three-tier network spanning LEO, cislunar, and deep space.
