About
The Six-Axis CubeSat Boom Deployer is part of CTD’s family of composite booms and CubeSat boom deployers, which CTD describes as the smallest deployers on the market.
The unit deploys booms with a span of 6.0 m tip-to-tip about three axes. The deployer family is characterised by CTD as compact, reliable, stable, patented, tailorable and multi-axis, and is engineered for maximum, efficient stowage.
Booms use overlapping slit-tube construction, or CTD’s patented Slit-Lock for maximum payload stability. Boom materials are tailored to the mission: carbon fibre composite for ultimate stiffness and thermal stability, fiberglass for RF transparency, and hybrid metal-composite for antenna elements.
Per CTD’s own timeline the six-axis boom deployer had its first flight in the 2015-2020 period, extending the flight heritage of TEMBO enabled booms and deployers.
