B1 Bipropellant Thruster
Compact self-pressurizing green propulsion thruster delivering 0.49-1.35 N thrust, rated for 18,000+ restarts, for fine satellite maneuvering.
About
The B1 is Dawn Aerospace’s compact green propulsion thruster, delivering a thrust range of 0.49 to 1.35 N (0.11 to 0.30 lbf), suited to fine attitude control and station-keeping maneuvers on small satellites. Like the B20, it uses non-toxic nitrous-oxide-based bipropellant chemistry with a spark-based igniter and supports a cold-gas mode.
The B1 is self-pressurizing and rated for 18,000+ restarts per thruster at a 4 Hz pulse frequency, with two normally-closed solenoid valves per thruster and a compact mounting interface of four 3.2mm holes. It can be operated independently or paired with the larger B20 thruster for missions requiring both coarse and fine maneuvering capability.
