About
The DXP Thruster is DeltaX Propulsion’s flagship propulsion product — an electrospray thruster based on nanostructured carbon-aerogel emitter technology. It delivers a specific impulse (Isp) of approximately 3,000 seconds, far exceeding chemical propulsion alternatives for CubeSats.
The thruster operates by electrostatically extracting and accelerating ions from an ionic liquid propellant through a dense array of emitter tips embedded in the carbon-aerogel substrate. This nanostructured architecture provides extremely high emitter density and surface area, resulting in efficient, stable thrust generation at very low power levels.
Targeted at 1U–12U CubeSat form factors, the DXP Thruster is designed for applications requiring precise attitude control, orbit raising, station-keeping, and end-of-life deorbit. Its compact form factor and scalable design make it suitable for constellation satellites and technology demonstrators alike.
