About
The Electromagnetic Unit (EMU) is a magnetic torquer specifically developed for nanosatellites. Its primary purpose is to generate a dipole magnetic moment, the value of which is directly proportional to the current flowing through its two independent windings. This unit is an integral component of a spacecraft’s attitude control system, facilitating the orientation of the satellite and the unloading of reaction wheels. Released in 2019, the EMU has a guaranteed service life of 5 years and an estimated production/delivery time of 3 months. It has undergone flight qualification through ground experimental testing, and there is a possibility to adapt the product to specific customer requirements. An option exists to develop and supply EMUs with a magnetic moment ranging from 0.2 to 2 A·m² based on customer needs.
