About
Eris is Australia’s first sovereign orbital launch vehicle, built, integrated, and launched from Australia. It is designed to support small satellite and sovereign missions into Low Earth Orbit (LEO). Gilmour Space offers dedicated or rideshare launch opportunities for small satellite or payload missions, ranging from early technology demonstrations to operational missions. Eris can also accommodate missions requiring access to specific orbits and government and defence applications needing sovereign space capability.
The Eris Block 1 features include mission capability for small satellites and payloads to LEO, with options for dedicated or rideshare missions and access to specific orbital requirements. The vehicle architecture is a 3-stage launch vehicle with a 1.5-meter diameter payload fairing and a hybrid propulsion system as its main engines. Gilmour Space is building an end-to-end launch capability to simplify mission planning, improve operational flexibility, support launch cadence, and provide affordable and reliable access to orbit from Australia.
