German Orbital Systems provides turnkey solutions for space missions, satellite components, and consulting services, focusing on a ‘new space’ philosophy that maximizes the utilization of COTS components and a building block system. Their platform design approach guarantees maximum value within shared satellite mission boundary conditions and optimal costs. Key features include a software-defined core with digitally controlled converters and switches in redundant configurations, modularity accommodating up to 20 small PCB-based payloads or a 4U payload block, and advanced operations with an autonomous scheduler to optimize payload duty cycles. Flexible payload handling is enabled by dedicated Interface Controller chips that can run user-defined scripts. Optional add-ons include double deployable solar panels and supplementary attitude sensors. The agile approach allows for satellite missions to be ready for launch within 6 months from contract signature. The platforms are suitable for applications such as Earth Observation, Student Projects, Scientific Experiments, In-Orbit-Verification, and ADS-B. They offer low cost, short lead times, late payload delivery for integration, flexible design, jitter-free ADCS, broadband downlink, and options for deployable arrays and propulsion.
