About
The Geoscan 1U CubeSat Platform is a nanosatellite platform built to the CubeSat 1U standard (10×10×10 cm, up to 2 kg), developed by Geoscan for educational space missions. Geoscan engaged in CubeSat development in 2021 as one of the manufacturers of platforms for educational satellites under the Space-π project of the Foundation for Assistance to Innovations. CubeSat platforms are used to teach satellite design, programming and assembly, to conduct amateur radio communication sessions, flight tests of onboard systems and scientific experiments in low Earth orbit. The 1U form factor is the basic building block of the CubeSat standard and supports a UHF radio channel, attitude control based on magnetometers and solar sensors, and a single payload interface. Since 2021, Geoscan has launched 16 satellites in its own and customer missions.
