About
StellarStation is Infostellar’s proprietary cloud software platform that virtualizes satellite ground segment operations. Rather than integrating separately with every antenna vendor, satellite operators connect their mission control software to the StellarStation API once and gain access to Infostellar’s entire growing network of partner ground stations worldwide, spanning S-band, X-band and Ka-band frequencies.
The platform is built around a two-sided marketplace model: satellite operators without their own ground infrastructure can sign up and pay-as-you-go for contact time on any compatible station in the network, with no upfront capital investment. Ground station owners can list their antennas’ idle time on the platform, earning revenue or platform credit that can then be spent purchasing contact time on other stations in the network, effectively turning underused dish capacity into a tradeable resource.
On the technical side, the StellarStation API is built on gRPC and is designed to dramatically simplify integration effort, handling pass scheduling, telemetry/command routing, RF licensing support and frequency coordination through a single unified console and dashboard. Communication between the cloud platform and each partner ground station is mediated by Infostellar’s StarPass edge server, which is installed within the station’s local network to interface with the antenna control unit, modem and scheduler. StellarStation scales from single-satellite missions up to large constellations flying in multiple orbital planes, and has been used to support LEO smallsat and cubesat operators as well as larger remote-sensing and communications missions.
