About
HANBIT-Nano is INNOSPACE’s two-stage small satellite launcher, designed to deliver up to 90 kg of payload to a 500 km Sun-Synchronous Orbit (SSO). The first stage uses a 25-ton-class (245 kN) hybrid engine burning paraffin wax and liquid oxygen. The second stage is available in two configurations: HANBIT-Nano HyPER, using INNOSPACE’s 3-ton-class (34 kN) hybrid engine with a 325 s specific impulse, and HANBIT-Nano LiMER, using a newly developed 3-ton-class methane/LOX engine with a 350 s specific impulse for improved performance.
The vehicle has a 21.7 m total height and 1.4 m core diameter. INNOSPACE validated its hybrid propulsion technology with the HANBIT-TLV precursor vehicle, successfully launched from Brazil’s Alcantara Space Center in March 2023, making INNOSPACE the first Korean private company to reach space with a hybrid-propulsion orbital-class rocket.
