About
The HIP_11 is an advanced multi-mode propulsion system combining hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and ionic liquid fuel as a green hypergolic propellant combination. Developed by ISPTech co-founder Dr. Felix Lauck during his PhD at DLR, HIP_11 offers higher propellant storage density than conventional alternatives and a specific impulse of up to 310 seconds in vacuum. The system supports chemical, electrical, and monopropellant operational modes and is available in 20 N and 200 N thruster variants currently under development. A unique advantage is that the propellant combination can potentially be synthesized from water found on celestial bodies, opening pathways to in-situ resource utilization for deep space missions. The Exploration Company has signed a license agreement to use the HIP_11 propellant for their spacecraft.
