About
Major Tom is a cloud-hosted ground operations platform that lets satellite operators manage multiple ground station networks from a single browser-based dashboard, covering pass scheduling, satellite tasking and commanding, real-time and historical telemetry visualization, orbital tracking, and two-way file transfer for software updates and payload data. It supports manual operator commanding and scripted automated workflows via an API, and scales from a single satellite to large multi-mission constellations. Security features include two-factor authentication, ITAR and NIST alignment, and SOC 2 Type II-compliant infrastructure. Originally developed by Kubos, Major Tom is now sold by Xplore as ‘Operations as a Service,’ running Xplore’s own constellation and serving external satellite operators.
