Nova-C is Lanteris/Intuitive Machines’ science and discovery lunar lander. The first spacecraft to demonstrate a methalox (liquid oxygen/liquid methane) propulsion system beyond Earth orbit, Nova-C provides an improved mass-to-propellant ratio that increases payload capacity and supports future extended lunar missions. The 4.3-meter-tall hexagonal lander features composite linerless tanks, autonomous landing and hazard avoidance technology, and multiple payload mounting locations for flexible payload integration. Nova-C successfully landed on the Moon in February 2024 (IM-1 Odysseus mission) — the first American spacecraft to soft-land on the Moon since Apollo 17 in 1972.
