About
The Rocket Mining System is Masten’s autonomous system for extracting lunar water and ice using rocket-plume fluidization technology. The system fluidizes ice particles under a pressurized dome using rocket plumes, then captures and stores the extracted water via a vacuum-like collection system. Designed to be rover-attachable or deliverable via Masten landers, the system can extract over 420,000 kg of water per year, supporting in-situ resource utilization for sustained lunar surface operations.
