About
Scimitar is Masten’s 1,200 lbf thrust rocket engine, currently in use as the main engine on the Xodiac vehicle. It has powered more than 100 successful flights with over 35,000 seconds of total operation. The engine can be configured with either a copper or aluminum combustion chamber and evolved from the earlier Hatchet engine design.
