About

Xombie is Masten’s first vertical takeoff/vertical landing vehicle, first flown in 2009. It holds the world record with 227 rocket-powered VTVL flights and is currently in semi-retirement, with the newer Xodiac vehicle carrying most of the terrestrial flight load — though Masten notes Xombie may fly again. Xombie was powered by the Hatchet engine, which accumulated 15,000+ seconds of operation across 220+ successful flights.
