About
Spacefarer AI extends Mission Control’s Spacefarer platform with an autonomy layer designed to make artificial intelligence deployable and trustworthy for spaceflight applications. The system targets on-board autonomous decision-making for robotic systems, surface mobility platforms, and scientific payloads operating in environments with limited or delayed ground communication — such as lunar and Martian surface operations — where real-time human control is impractical. Spacefarer AI is under active development as part of Mission Control’s broader mission to make modern software and AI viable for use in space.
