About
Phoenix Eye OmniPNT is a Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) Alternative Positioning, Navigation and Timing (APNT) software solution designed to determine position (latitude, longitude, altitude) and time without access to GPS signals. It connects to antennas that scan the sky, capturing radio waves emitted by celestial objects such as the sun, moon, planets, pulsars and satellites, along with other signals of opportunity. Proprietary algorithms analyze these radio waves to extract location and time information, with accuracy improving as more celestial sources are observed. OmniPNT integrates into RF hardware, achieving its best results with Luneburg lens systems due to their rapid whole-sky observation capability, and also works with Electronically Scanned Antennas (ESAs) with known sideline measurements; a small form-factor antenna variant is offered for manpack applications.
