Hanwha Systems is South Korea’s prime contractor for the military satellite communication ground network linked to ANASIS-II, the nation’s first dedicated military communications satellite. Under a KRW 888.5 billion (~USD 742 million) contract with the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) covering 2021–2025, Hanwha Systems manufactures eight categories of satellite communication terminals — spanning ground-fixed and vehicle-mounted configurations — along with network controllers and integrated modems enabling coordinated joint operations across Army, Navy, and Air Force platforms.
The comprehensive ground segment enables secure, resilient military communications across all service branches, with the satellite providing coverage over the Korean peninsula and surrounding region.
