ModuLink is a highly modular and scalable space-rated robotic system developed by Motiv, designed to affordably update and enhance a wide variety of spacecraft for diverse missions. It leverages proven Motiv technology, including improved components from the Mars Rover Robotic Arm and the xLink Robotic Arm Platform, ensuring reliability and performance in space environments. The system is engineered for time and cost efficiency, allowing for faster and more economical outfitting of spacecraft compared to traditional bespoke systems. ModuLink’s mission-ready components include customizable robotic arms based on the xLink platform, available in various lengths and capabilities, and outfitted with dextrous grippers and manipulators. It also features a versatile ecosystem of connectors, offering options for tool changers, multi-component attachment points, and refueling connectors. For enhanced situational awareness, ModuLink can be equipped with advanced sensors such as optical cameras, LIDAR, and infrared cameras. The system supports customizable modules, enabling capabilities like capturing and delivering modules for repair, new functionalities, or refueling. Its advanced capabilities include on-orbit repairs and replacements of aging or failed modular components, refueling of satellites, removal of space debris, on-orbit manufacturing and assembly, and relocating satellites using its space tug capabilities.
