Motiv Space Systems
Motiv Motor Controllers (Alpha-II, Bravo, Delta)

Space-rated brushless DC and stepper motor controller line for extreme space environments.

About

Motiv designs and delivers advanced motion control solutions for the extreme environments of space, from earth orbit to deep space to the cryogenic temperatures of the Moon. The Alpha-II Motor Controller is a single-axis, highly capable and flexible robotic motion control card supporting 3-phase BLDC or stepper motors, with an operational temperature range of -55C to +125C, 100kRad total ionizing dose radiation tolerance, and up to 6A continuous / 10A peak power handling; sample applications include on-orbit servicing robots and large planetary robotics such as the Mars 2020 rover arm. The Bravo Motor Controller is a compact, two-channel controller for stepper and brushless DC motors used in gimbals, positioners, robotics, focus mechanisms, and filter wheels, also rated to 100kRad. The Delta Motor Controller is a small form-factor controller with a mother-daughter board configuration adaptable to nearly any power output scenario, rated to 30kRad (100kRad available). Controllers can be tailored for specific radiation and parts-pedigree requirements to move quickly from lab to flight using the same architecture.
