About
The SL-OMV (Small Launch Orbital Maneuvering Vehicle) is Moog’s dedicated in-space transportation and deployment vehicle designed for rideshare missions requiring precise orbital placement. Operating at 400–700 km altitude, the 70 kg bus vehicle carries up to six containerized 12 kg payloads or six 6U/12U CubeSats in independent deployment bays. The propulsion system provides up to 200 m/s delta-V, enabling deployment of payloads to distinct orbital planes or altitudes from a single rideshare orbit. Position knowledge is better than 5 m from onboard navigation. Pointing accuracy is ±1° during deployment and ±10° in sun-pointing mode. Velocity accuracy at payload release is 0.1 m/s. The 40-inch circular payload interface accommodates the standard ESPA or ESPA-Grande rideshare adapter. Mission life is propellant-limited to less than one year. The platform’s modular integration accommodates hosted payloads in addition to the six primary deployment slots.
