METEORITE Satellite Bus
Description
METEORITE is Moog's purpose-built small satellite bus targeting ESPA rideshare and dedicated launches into LEO, MEO, and GEO orbits. The platform carries up to 220 kg payload with 150 W average and 2 kW peak power, supplied from body-mounted and deployable solar panels feeding an unregulated 28 VDC bus. Attitude control achieves better than 60 arcsec (1σ) pointing accuracy with less than 10 arcsec stability and jitter, with a maximum slew rate of 2.5 deg/sec. The baseline propulsion uses Moog's ASCENT green monopropellant system delivering more than 175 m/s delta-V at 200 kg dry mass. Avionics are built around Moog's BRE440 radiation-hardened CPU. Total bus dry mass is 120 kg within a 22 × 28 × 23.65 inch envelope. Position knowledge is better than 4 m. The METEORITE bus supports 2–5 year mission life in the 500–1200 km altitude range with 25.5 kRad total dose tolerance at 0.200 inch aluminum shielding.
