MX-2 Explorer

The MX-2 is a dual-stage robotic explorer with enough delta-V to reach Venus or the moons of Mars from low Earth orbit, with a payload capacity around 30-400 kg depending on mission configuration. Historically, MX-2 was positioned for a lunar South Pole mission to establish a research outpost at a ‘Peak of Eternal Light’ — a location with near-constant solar illumination and Earth communication visibility — to gather data on water and other resources in support of future lunar development, in partnership with the International Lunar Observatory Association’s ILO-1 payload.
