Multi Mission Microsatellite Bus (MMMB)

More than a decade ago, the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) put their trust in MSCI’s vision that Canada could build a microsatellite using carefully selected commercial parts to create a cost-effective platform for scientific investigations and technology demonstrations. From this vision, MSCI has since led industry, university, scientific, and government partners to produce the MOST microsatellite. The CSA also initiated the development of the Microsatellite Multi Mission Bus (MMMB) program. MSCI worked with the CSA for five years to develop and define a standard microsatellite bus upon which future cost effective microsatellites could be built. In 2007, MSCI was awarded the NEOSSat microsatellite contract to build the first of the Canadian government microsatellites built on the MMMB architecture standard. The MMMB is transitioning the focus from microsatellites as the project itself to using them as a host for science. MSCI applies a comprehensive approach to Product Assurance for microsatellites based upon the best of practices for all facets of full space qualified programs, but tailored to provide cost and schedule effective results for our Customers.
