Transponder Leasing

NIGCOMSAT offers transponder leasing on the NigComSat-1R satellite, which features radiation-hardened technology, high reliability, on-board software re-programmable capability, fault tolerance, redundant components and high efficiency. The satellite carries 28 transponders and 7 antenna beams providing coverage over African, European and Asian continents, with enhanced reliability through fade margin compensation for rain attenuation losses.

Capacity is available across three frequency bands: Ku-band (14 transponders of 31.5MHz each, with 3 beams covering West Africa, Southern Africa and Kashi), C-band (4 transponders of 36MHz each, covering West, East and Central Africa), and Ka-band (8 transponders of 120MHz each for broadcast and trunking, with three fixed spot beams over Nigeria, Europe and South Africa). Frequency re-use techniques, competitively priced transmission capacity and small antenna requirements help lower costs for broadband services built on this capacity.
