The system incorporates adequate fade margin compensation to mitigate attenuation losses caused by rain, thereby guaranteeing increased reliability and availability of services. The Ku-band offerings are designed to lower broadband service costs through frequency re-use techniques, competitively priced transmission capacity, and compatibility with small antennas and reduced terminal prices. NigComSat-1R is highlighted as the first of its kind in Africa, promising a wide range of applications.
