The SM16 is a robust 16U CubeSat structure engineered for space applications. It offers high configurability with options for horizontal and vertical stack assembly, allowing for flexible integration of internal components. The design ensures the PCB stack assembly is independent from the main structure, simplifying integration and maintenance. The SM16 is compatible with SPM Solar Panels and a wide range of other vendor panels, providing versatility for power solutions. It supports both PC104 and PC104 PLUS compatibility, which are standard interfaces for CubeSat subsystems. Structural integrity is enhanced through the use of Helicoil inserts. The structure comes as a standard kit including assembly screws and four 4U stack assembly standard sets. Optional accessories include 1U, 2U, and 4U intermediate rings to accommodate various payload sizes and configurations. For safety and deployment, it can be equipped with up to eight deployment switches, including up to four stand-off kill switches and up to four rail switches.
