About
Paradigma Technologies’ Q Band Transmitter is a miniaturized plug-and-play 1.5U CubeSat-compatible transmitter system for LEO and GEO missions requiring Q Band downlinks. It integrates a Q Band transmitter with a 28 dBi dual-polarized lens horn antenna (LHCP/RHCP selectable, 48 dBm EIRP) in a self-contained 700 g package. It accepts an S-Band IF input (2185 MHz) for upconversion to 37.5–42.5 GHz, or operates as a standalone Q Band transmitter for S-band upconversion. Operating modes include upconverter, OOK/ASK/FSK transmitter, and CW/OOK/ASK/FSK beacon. An integrated rad-hard 300 MIPS MCU with 16 MB rad-tolerant flash and dual 32 kB rad-hard SRAM provides processing and OTA firmware updates. The unit is 30 krad radiation qualified and includes an internal dosimeter. Space heritage confirmed Q2 2023. The chassis is AL7075-T6 and qualifies to ECSS-E-ST-10-03C and GEVS GSFC-STD-70006.
